Air France Suspends Middle East Flights till March 3

(MENAFN) Air France will keep flights to four key Middle Eastern destinations grounded through Tuesday as the regional security situation continues to deteriorate, France's transport minister announced Sunday.

"For safety reasons and in coordination with state authorities, Air France is suspending its flights to Tel Aviv, Beirut, Dubai, and Riyadh until Tuesday, March 3," Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot said in a post on the social media platform X.

Tabarot confirmed the suspension applies to both departing and returning flights across all four affected routes. The minister added that Air France would release a revised flight schedule in the days ahead, contingent on how the situation on the ground evolves.

The suspension places Air France among a growing number of international carriers forced to reroute or ground services as multiple countries have moved to temporarily shut their airspace in response to the rapidly worsening security environment.

The decision follows a sharp escalation in Middle East hostilities driven by recent military action involving the US, Israel, and Iran — a confrontation that has sent shockwaves through regional aviation networks and put the safety of commercial flight paths into serious question. International aviation authorities are closely monitoring the situation as airlines brace for further disruptions in the days ahead.
