Turkish Defense Firms Launch Mine-Detecting Robot

(MENAFN) Two Turkish defense manufacturers, Mesan Electronics and Esetron, have collaboratively introduced a new unmanned robotic system designed to identify landmines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

This cutting-edge machine made its debut at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), held in Istanbul.

The robot functions either independently or through remote control. It integrates Mesan Electronics’ state-of-the-art sensor systems with Esetron’s robust and compact robotic framework.

This combination allows the device to pinpoint various explosive threats, including anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, IEDs, connecting wires, tripwires, and triggering mechanisms.

Its scanning head can be altered based on mission requirements, enabling security personnel to perform thorough searches and reconnaissance in dangerous environments while reducing the likelihood of injuries or fatalities.

Created with versatility in mind, the robotic unit is suitable for missions such as cross-border operations, counterterror activities, minefield clearance, and safeguarding military outposts.

Featuring a lightweight and modular structure, the robot is designed for easy transportation by a single individual and can be swiftly adjusted for diverse operational tasks.

There has been notable interest in this innovation from nations in Africa, the Middle East, and the Balkans, indicating strong potential for international sales.
